Safety checks

Catch risky changes before they cost you.

Each new version gets 10 safety checks. They flag the mistakes that break tracking or put data at risk.

The problem

Some mistakes are easy to miss

A tag gets paused. A trigger gets swapped. An event name gets a capital letter.

Each one looks small. But each one can stop your sales or leads from being counted.

You won't see it on the site. The page looks just the same.

How it works

How safety checks work

  1. Step 1: A new version goes live

We see it within minutes, like any other publish.

  2. Step 2: We run 10 checks on it

In the app, we call them lint rules. Each one looks for one kind of mistake.

  3. Step 3: Each finding gets a level

Critical means act now. Warning means take a look. Info means tidy up when you can.

  4. Step 4: You hear about the big ones

Critical findings send an alert. Warnings show on the version page and in your Monday recap.

The 10 checks

What each check looks for

Here they are in plain words. A sales or lead tag is one that counts a sale, lead or sign-up.

  1. CriticalA sales or lead tag was removed or paused.
  2. CriticalThe trigger on a sales or lead tag changed. So it may fire on the wrong page, or not at all.
  3. CriticalAn event name changed only in its capital letters, like purchase to Purchase. Reports see it as a new event.
  4. CriticalAn email or phone number is typed right into a tag. That can break Google's rules and privacy laws.
  5. WarningGoogle Analytics is set up twice on every page. So each visit counts two times.
  6. WarningYou have a cookie banner tool, but an ad tag has no consent settings. It may run before a visitor says yes.
  7. WarningA new Custom HTML tag has no note. No one can tell who added it, or why.
  8. InfoA trigger or variable is not used by anything. It is just clutter.
  9. InfoAn ID, like a Google Ads ID, is typed into a tag. It is better to save it once and reuse it.
  10. InfoA tag has been paused and not touched for over 90 days.

Each finding in the app says why it matters and how to fix it.

FAQ

Questions you may have

Do the checks change my container?

No. They only read the version. You decide what to fix.

Can I turn a check off?

Not yet. Warnings and info findings never send an alert, so they stay quiet.

Do the checks run on drafts from my AI helper?

Yes. When your AI helper sends a draft for review, we run the same 10 checks on it. You see the results before you say yes.
